Its odd then, that Fear of God has a mass appeal yet is rooted in Christianity, a religion more often than not in the news for the things its adamantly against (gay marriage and a womans right to choose, for example) than what it wholeheartedly endorses. Indeed, we cannot do one without the other! there is no fear of God Often, we see it in verses of assurance, such as, So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. The fear of God is not a fear of being struck down by God when you sin, or of having the dread of hell hanging over your head, although that is a real fear for non-believers, but rather the fear of God is a deep, holy, reverential respect and awe for God, for Gods Word, and for obeying Gods commands.
